The unavoidable compression–expansion shape of sensemaking under constraint.

Whenever inputs exceed capacity and action must occur now, a finite system must: compress (forget most distinctions), act through a bottleneck (Now), and expand creatively (invent usable output). This is not optional, not designed, not local to any single layer. It is the forced topology of meaning under finitude.

Principle: “The bottleneck is forgetting, not truth.”

Diagnostic: Can participants see that compression happened? Can they name what was lost? If the bottleneck presents itself as discovery rather than forgetting, MemeGrid conditions are active.

What It Is NOT: - Not a component or module (it is global and structural) - Not one-per-daemon (one bow-tie spans the stack; daemons bias its shape) - Not optional or designed (it is physics + time + finitude)

Canonical Path:

Ω (It-Field) → χ compression (I-Tube) → Q weighting (My-Stream) → Ψ coherence (Knot competition) → Z collapse (Now) → Expansion (creative reconstruction)

Failure Mode: A bow-tie that has forgotten it’s a bow-tie. Right funnel collapsed (only one expansion permitted), Ω-return sealed, compression presented as truth. This is the structural definition of MemeGrid.
