Between the instantaneous inflection of a fold and the compressive stabilization of a Knot lies My-Stream.
It is the propagation medium of the ecology.
Threads do not move here as discrete messages. They propagate as waves—interfering oscillations shaped by prior folds and biased by lamination.
My-Stream is the wave-space inside the I-Tube.

Architecture note: The State Schema v0.3 instantiates these three dimensions directly. The My-Stream state bundle S_Q(i, t) carries A_i (amplitude), φ_i (phase position), τ_i (temporal depth extending back into phase-memory), v_i (drift velocity as Fire’s directional contribution), damp_i (dissipation rate as Earth’s metabolic contribution), and recurr_i (recurrence pressure — how strongly current trajectory repeats prior patterns). The wave-space description in this document is what those variables are tracking when a simulation runs.
What Waves Do Here
1. Re-Activation
Prior folds resurface as familiar waveforms—habits, moods, reflexes returning without deliberation.
They are felt as bodily readiness, tension, or pull, not recalled as ideas.
2. Optionality
Competing wavelets interfere, creating forks in felt space—the sense that something could be done differently.
Low-amplitude harmonics whisper alternatives before articulation.
3. Transmission of Structure
Low-frequency patterns propagate without narrative: rhythms, orientations, affective timing that persist even when stories change.
What survives is the bassline, not the lyrics.

Architecture note: The Operator Matrix types My-Stream as a dissipative flow field — amplitudes, rhythms, phase-memory, with explicit dissipation terms. The three possible moves map onto Earth’s (☷) metabolic function: amplification uses available energy, dampening increases damp_i (dissipation rate), and dispersion is what happens when neither amplification nor dampening is forced and the wave simply metabolizes through Earth’s regenerative cycling. Suppression failing because it injects energy is the formal reason Earth’s update rule in the State Schema explicitly operates through damping + renewal rather than through hard cutoff: “A_i(t+1) ← A_i(t) × (1 - damp_i) + renewal term.” Hard cutoff would create exactly the wave-sharpening this document describes.
Dissolving Content Tyranny
My-Stream breaks the illusion that meaning lives in discrete units.

What persists is not what was thought, but how it recurs—the waveform’s envelope, the rhythm of return, the body’s remembered sway.

Threads often originate in We-Spheres, enter My-Stream as felt continuity, and only later stabilize into Knots.
This coupling is often compulsory under MemeGrid conditions, where survival requires participation in specific We-Spheres.
Q is not internal or external. It is circulatory.
Architecture note: The Nested Bow-Tie Dynamics spec formalizes this circulatory structure as bidirectional coupling. Fast I-Tube cycles modulate My-Stream parameters (downward modulation): what the I-Tube distinguishes sets which threads enter My-Stream compression, and how strongly distinctions are claimed shapes the descent gradient steepness. Slower We-Sphere states modulate My-Stream upward: sync_ij determines which affective patterns are reinforced, exit_ij determines affective freedom (high exit costs constrain the range of feelings that can exist — “can’t feel what the group forbids”). Power Within (Clarified)
My-Stream is where Power Within operates—but not as control.

When this fails: Affect loops form—repetition without revision, intensity without exit.
This is where usurpenes most easily hook: not through belief, but through affective recurrence.
Failure Mode: Narrative Foreclosure
My-Stream fails when oscillation is forced into story too early.
Signs: - Affect immediately converted into explanation - Repetition mistaken for identity (“this is who I am”) - Feeling treated as verdict rather than signal
Result: Narrative foreclosure collapses wave-space into rails, preparing ground for Knot ossification and MemeGrid capture.
Architecture note: This is what recurr_i in the State Schema tracks. The canonical My-Stream failure is not just high amplitude or low damping — it is high temporal depth (τ_i) combined with high recurrence pressure (recurr_i), producing affective looping where feeling narrows rather than expands optionality. The variable was added specifically to distinguish fertile depth (high τ_i, low recurr_i — rich memory, open trajectory) from pathological looping (high τ_i, high recurr_i — narrative foreclosure). The diagnostic from this document — “Does feeling expand optionality, or narrow it?” — is measured in simulation through the relationship between A_i, accessible basin count, and recurr_i.

Choice is topological optionality within an oscillatory field.
My-Stream is not what you think. It is how patterns move—waves cresting through lived time.
