Glyph:
Focus: Force without story

Canonical Description (§3.5)

A hauntological effect is produced when: - Twists stabilize into Knots - The originating context dissolves - The force persists without narrative justification - ε was not reintroduced

Hauntology = force without story.

The Phenomenology

Haunted systems feel: - Tense without cause - Obligated without reason - Resistant to change without explanation

These are obsolete compressions still shaping descent paths.

Structural Production

Hauntological Knots are structurally—not psychologically—produced.

They are Twists that were never allowed to unwind while ε was present.

Habitat Diagnostic

Hauntological effects are most visible in the Temporal Flexibility axis (§2.5): - Frozen Habitats accumulate hauntological Knots - Adaptive Habitats metabolize them through Earth (☷) cycling

Detection Markers

Marker Interpretation
“I should…” without clear reason Obligation from dissolved context
Resistance to change that “makes no sense” Obsolete compression still binding
Tension without identifiable source Force without narrative
“This is just how it’s done” Lattice enforcement, not memory

Hauntology Log

[To be populated as ghosts are detected]

Remediation

From §4.11: Other-Sphere contact can refresh any Habitat directly.

Ω-contact provides the ε-space that hauntological Knots were denied.
